Another cold season, another set of damaged tresses, right? We don’t think so, people! Last season’s hair care routine just isn’t going to cut it. Clue up on these top winter hair care tips from TONY&GUY Paddington’s own NSW Hairdresser of the Year, Sam Overton.

Treat your tresses
"Now that it's coming in to winter, use a good treatment regularly," says Sam. "This will help repair the damage caused by all those lazy days on the beach." We heart Label. M Intensive Mask!

Banish breakage
"Prevent any excess breakage during the colder months by wearing your hair out more often," says Sam. "Using a tie every day can cause extra breakage."

Pastel pretty
"Change your hair colour," says Sam. "If you’re a blonde; go for something pastel instead. This will help to reduce any dryness caused by over-colouring."

In with the blow-dry, out with the hot-iron
"Treat your hair to a break and wear it natural, rather than over styling it," says Sam. "Continue to use a hair dryer but forget about the irons!"

Pamper yourself – it’s good for you!
"Finally, make sure you visit your hairdresser regularly," says Sam. We recommend booking in every 6-8 weeks for a trim. "This will any remove dry, split ends and keep your hair looking healthy and strong."

Sam’s top winter style tips:

  • Keep it simple, yet sexy.
  • Don't go dark for winter, go pastel.
  • Wear waves, not curls. Elegant and sassy.
  • Fringes will help to keep the warmth in. Have a square chin? Choose a round fringe. Round chin? Rock a square fringe.
  • Ditch the tight braid and opt for a little messiness.
